Ficken to speak at annual Blue-White scholarship breakfast

Former Penn State kicker Sam Ficken will be the guest speaker at the annual Blue-White Scholarship Breakfast on April 18.

The breakfast is held by the Community Refuge Education and Recreation Center, a non-profit organization founded by former Penn State safety Lee Rubin and his wife, Carmen, that supports the education of underserved children. The Rubins bring 50 or more youngsters to Penn State for a tour of campus and the event itself. This year, proceeds from ticket sales and the silent auction will benefit the Still family (former Penn State defensive lineman Devon Still’s daughter, Leah, is battling pediatric cancer) as well as the CRERC.

The breakfast will be held at the Penn Stater hotel at 10 a.m.; Penn State’s Blue-White Game kicks off at 4 p.m. that afternoon. Limited seating is available. For more information, visit the event’s website.
